Isaiah Women Writer's Workshop Part 2
Monday, August 16 | 7:00 p.m.
REMINDER: Please RSVP for this reflective three-part workshop for Isaiah Women! It begins on August 2 and continues on August 16 and August 30.
A Reflection on Our Personal, Pandemic Journeys in Three Parts 7:00-8:30 p.m.
We’ve all been through a year and a half that was like nothing any of us have ever experienced. Before time rushes on and ahead, let’s stop to reflect on what happened, what it meant to us, and where we go from here. We will meet for three evening sessions, Monday August 2, 16, and 30 from 7-8:30pm at the home of Connie Sommer in Mar Vista. Participants should arrive with a pen and notebook, or a laptop, and be prepared to reflect and write about personal experiences.
1. In the first session, we will each focus on writing down our personal pandemic story and identifying its key themes.
2. In the second session, we’ll reflect on how the pandemic has changed us, what we’ve lost, and what we’ve gained.
3. In the third session, we will each think and write about our story of the future. As we come out of the pandemic, what sort of life do we want to lead? What sort of person do we want to become?
There will be time to write and time to read what we’ve written aloud. Participants will be encouraged to do only what makes them comfortable.

Shabbat WITH CLERGY ON VOLLMER DECK (AND LIVESTREAMED)
Friday, August 20 | 6:15 p.m.
Attend Shabbat services in-person on the Vollmer Deck every Friday evening this summer! We have limited space available for members of Temple Isaiah to join us for prayer, song, and community. Each service will be followed by a food-free “Shabbos Shmooze” (aka Oneg, but no noshes or bring-your-own-dinner allowed just yet). You must RSVP to attend in-person; first come, first served. Services will also be streamed to our Vimeo channel, website & Facebook page.
Friday- Following Shabbat Services | 7:15 p.m.
Our final “Zoom Oneg” of 2020-2021 took place June 25, 2021. Beginning Friday July 2, our ‘oneg” experience will be entirely in-person following services on the Vollmer Deck; it will not be live-streamed. Its new name is “Shabbos Shmooze” and (until further notice) it is entirely food-free - no noshes or bring-your-own-dinner allowed just yet. Stay for a few minutes after Shabbat to reconnect with your community! We look forward to moving back to our full Oneg experience (with those delicious cookies!) in the coming months.
