Sunday

Big Sunday is an annual event held in May, during which volunteers come together to participate in hands-on community service projects, all across Los Angeles County and beyond. Now, after 17 years, Big Sunday Weekend is expanding into A Month of Big Sundays by sponsoring service events every single day in May. Big Sunday is the largest regional community building/community service event of its kind, drawing thousands of volunteers including civic, school, faith and business groups along with families, neighbors and individuals of all ages. Temple Isaiah has participated in Big Sunday for many years, and recent Isaiah-supported projects have focused on improvement and beautification of several of our local area public schools. The Big Sunday organization, which is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, also sponsors projects and programs year-round that support public schools, veterans, animal welfare and environmental organizations, disabled adults and children, homeless people, and the elderly.

How to get involved:

The Big Sunday website is a great resource for community service opportunities for everyone, including teens and youth.
